New Teacher Academy
The LRC-South New Teacher Academy Professional Learning Community (PLC) provides high-quality professional learning experiences and a collaborative support network for teachers entering their first through third year in the profession.
This annual program is designed to strengthen and support all new teachers through impactful sessions, engaging activities, and reflective dialogue grounded in high-leverage inclusive practices that promote the success of all learners.
Participants start the school year with confidence after attending a three-day summer academy and hone their practice throughout the year with ongoing support from monthly PLC meetings.
2026-2027 Dates and Application
We look forward to welcoming Cohort 7 of the LRC-South New Teacher Academy Professional Learning Community! Members of this cohort will engage in a free, yearlong professional learning experience that includes:
Virtual Orientation: August 4, 20266:30 - 7:30 pm
Meet your fellow cohort members as we lay the foundation for building our professional learning community. We'll also discuss what to expect during the summer academy so that you can be prepared to get the most out of our time together!
In-Person Summer Academy: August 11 - 13, 2026
8:30 am - 3:00 pm at Rowan University, James Hall
Hear insights from previous cohorts, explore the LRC-South’s services while preparing for the school year ahead, and engage in professional learning sessions on the following daily themes:

- Inclusive Instructional Strategies and Student Supports
6:30 - 7:30 pm, September 2026 - June 2027
Reflect on your practice, share ideas and encouragement, and discuss a variety of ways to promote students’ academic, social, and emotional growth.
To make the most of this valuable opportunity, participants will be required to attend the orientation, all three days of the summer academy, and the monthly PLC meetings. All first through third-year teachers are encouraged to apply!
