The Increasing More Passionate and Committed Teachers (IMPACT) program’s mission is to increase the teacher/ educator workforce with the idea of enriching education for all.
Vision
To provide academic support, personal development, and leadership skills for education majors. The program aims to help participants meet their goal of becoming a teacher by providing support in academic, college life, community connections, and experiential learning opportunities.
Goals of IMPACT Educator Program
- Increasing the teacher / educator workforce
- Providing academic, professional and cultural support to assist program participants in successfully completing their undergraduate course of study and graduating

What are the benefits of the IMPACT program?
The benefits of the IMPACT Educator Program is to prepare future educators to teach and work in high demand districts through Exposure, Engagement, and Education
- IMPACT Educator Institute –Saturday Spring 2026 (half day)
- Individual and Group Tutoring
- Academic Advising
- Student Success Workshops/ Financial Aid counseling
- Transfer and Career Services
- Leadership Development (CED and University conference presentations, role in student organizations, lead professional development workshops)
- Experiential learning opportunities- (Office of Clinical Experiences, Volunteerism & Community Engagement, Global Learning & Partnerships, and Division of University Research, and the LRC)
- Wellness – Activities through the George Family Center for Healing Arts
- Mentorship: Mentor to Mentee & Peer to Peer
What are the qualifications to participate in the IMPACT program?
Prospective IMPACT Educators must be:
- Education Major
- Full-time student, *
- Incoming freshman or transfer student *
- Completed your FAFSA and New Jersey Higher Education Student Assistance Authority (HESSA) also known as Tuition Aid Grant (TAG) requirements
- Have met with a Rowan University Financial Aid Advisor to discuss your options for scholarships, and other options
- Incoming Freshman: High School GPA of 3.25 or higher or SAT score above 1150 *
- Transfer student: 3.25 GPA or higher from their transferred institution *
- Must serve as a full-time teacher for a total of at least four academic years within eight years after you complete or otherwise cease to be enrolled in the program(s) for which you received TEACH Grant funds
- Teaching service must be in a high-demand field.
- Be willing to step outside of their comfort zone to meet new people and experience new adventures
IMPACT Educators must be willing to engage and participate in:
- Meet for 1-on-1 advising with their CED advisor
- Meet with their assigned Mentor (faculty, staff or volunteer) at least one time a month (mentor- google form)
- Attend the monthly IMPACT Community Building sessions (in-person or virtual)
- Attend and engage in Experiential learning opportunities/Service-learning opportunities
- Increase their personal commitment to academics, gaining a degree, and teaching certification/license.
- Network with CED professional staff, administration and faculty
- IMPACT Ambassador opportunities
- Attend educational and professional workshops as assigned
- Commit to being Present, Involved and Accountable to each other
