Men of Color Hope Achievers (MOCHA), focuses on recruiting, preparing, supporting, and retaining males ofcolor to earn certification through an alternate route program.

The MOCHA Program provides placements for men of color to be classroom teachers in New Jersey. Based on innovative legislation signed by Governor Phil Murphy, the MOCHA Program aims to attract 25 men of color into the College of Education’s alternate route program, ASPIRE to Teach. Funding for the MOCHA Program is provided by the New Jersey Department of Education (NJDOE) and we are pleased to be partners together in this initiative.

Rowan University’s College of Education is the sole university partner with NJDOE to implement this new initiative.
