MOCHA - Men of Color Hope Achievers Program - focuses on recruiting, preparing, supporting, and retaining males ofcolor to earn certification through an alternate route program.

The MOCHA Program provides placements for men of color to be classroom teachers in New Jersey. Based on innovative legislation signed by Governor Phil Murphy, the MOCHA Program aims to attract 25 men of color into the College of Education’s alternate route program, ASPIRE to Teach. Funding for the MOCHA Program is provided by the New Jersey Department of Education (NJDOE) and we are pleased to be partners together in this initiative.

Rowan University’s College of Education is the sole university partner with NJDOE to implement this new initiative.

For all MOCHA-related inquiries, email MOCHA@doe.nj.gov

Individuals interested in MOCHA are encouraged to fill out the inquiry form to ask questions and be connected with our district partners for employment opportunities.

Please note, the MOCHA Program at Rowan University is not accepting any new applications.
