Program Objectives

1. To prepare culturally sensitive professional counselors to work in educational settings as effective providers of responsive services to individuals and groups of students in the areas of academic, social and career development.

2. To prepare culturally sensitive professional counselors who are able to consult and collaborate with other professionals on behalf of students and their families.

3. To prepare culturally sensitive professional counselors who can work as change agents and are able to assist with the school improvement plan.

4. To prepare culturally sensitive professional counselors who are knowledgeable of the latest technology and able to apply or use the latest research findings in the work setting.
