Biography

Dr. Yvonne Rodriguez is a professor in the Teacher Education department and the Program Coordinator for Early Childhood Teacher Education. She received her B.A. in Sociology and History from Rutgers University, her M.A. in Elementary Teaching from Glassboro State College and her Ed.D. in Adult & Continuing Education and Urban Education from Temple University. Dr. Rodriguez’s research interests include culturally responsive teaching, racism and prejudice among pre service & practicing teachers, attention to cultural capital in teaching & learning, prejudice reduction & professional development and professional education and the complexity of diversity. Dr. Rodriguez teaches Early Childhood Education Senior Seminar, Teaching Students of Linguistic & Cultural Diversity, Early Childhood Clinical Practice, Curriculum & Assessment in Elementary Education and Action Research.
