Erica Watson Brown received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Business with a specialization in Organizational Management from Cabrini University, her Master of Arts in Education and Reading degree from Concordia University. She served as an elementary educator in New Jersey for ten years. Erica’s experience in the public school environment attests to her interest to research the impact of specific federal policies on the educational outcomes of children in urban settings, in particular, P-12. Her research interests include elementary education, teacher preparation programs, and equity in education.

At Rowan University, Erica is a Lecturer for the department of Interdisciplinary and Inclusive Education, in the College of Education. In addition, she is the program coordinator for the Initial Teaching Preparation Program specialization in B.A. Elementary Education (K-6) and has supervised clinical experience/practice interns. Erica is an active member of several professional organizations and enjoys presenting Elementary Education content that supports the growth and development of teachers, paraprofessional staff, school leaders, students, parents and the community. She has also worked with non-profit organizations to facilitate S.T.E.A.M workshops for middle and high school girls. When not teaching she enjoys traveling to New York and spending time with her family. In the Fall of 2019, she will enter the doctoral program at Rowan University with a concentration in Urban Education.
