Biography

Carol's research interests focus on how learners develop higher-order thinking skills through adaptive expertise and social languages in contexts that range from medical education and teacher education. Her work has been published in International Journal of General Medicine (2025),Teaching and Learning in Communication Sciences and Disorders (2025); The Rural Educator (2022), Linguistics and Education, Language, Identity and Education, Teachers College Record and in several edited volumes including Technology and Identity: Constructing the Self in a Digital World (Cambridge University Press, 2012). She has also presented papers extensively at international conferences.

She teaches doctoral courses on research methods and organizational structures.
