Biography

Ane Turner Johnson received her Ph.D. in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies, with a concentration in Higher Education Administration and International Research & Development, from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech) in 2009. Dr. Johnson is an international education researcher, with a focus on countries in Africa. She has conducted research in Côte d'Ivoire, Ghana, Kenya, the Gambia, South Africa, Tanzania, Zambia, Zanzibar, and Zimbabwe. Her research interest include policymaking and governance in higher education, academics and administrators in African higher education, and qualitative research methods.
