Biography
Dianna C. Dale’s career as a student affairs professional spans over 40 years. Her career path reflects a classical pattern of upward mobility within the student affairs profession beginning as a resident director and culminating in the position of vice president for student affairs which she held at three institutions. In 2017 Dr. Dale retired from higher education administration and began a second career as an adjunct faculty member at Rowan University where she teaches in the Masters in Higher Education program. In 2019 she was appointed to a 3/4-time faculty position at Rowan University. Dr. Dale initiated and coordinates the Alpha Lambda Chapter of the Chi Sigma Alpha Honor Society at Rowan University, the international honor society of student affairs profession. Over 40 students have been inducted into Rowan’s chapter.
Dr. Dale earned a BA from Curry College in Psychology and Sociology, an MA from Seton Hall University in Counseling and Student Personnel Services and a Ph.D. from Drexel University in Educational Leadership and Leaning Technologies. Her dissertation entitled, Women Student Affairs Leaders: Advancing and Succeeding in Higher Education Leadership Teams focused on the significant events, persons and experiences that supported and hindered the career advancement and success of the study’s twelve participants.
Dr. Dale’s passion for Student Affairs work began at Curry College where she was a resident assistant. Since that time, she has dedicated herself to transforming lives through co-curricular leadership and education and now teaching. As Dr. Dale reflects over four decades as a student affairs professional, she acknowledges her continued passion for her work and the significant difference it has made in her life.
