Biography

Wendy Cavendish is a Professor of Inclusive Education in the WISE Department at Rowan University. Her research has a strong interdisciplinary focus and is targeted to identifying the policies, institutional process, and practices in schools and other social institutions that facilitate and support successful transition of diverse youth in ways that lead to equitable outcomes. She has directed several funded research projects totaling almost 10 million dollars that center student and teacher voices to inform transformative change in schools and communities.  Prior to joining Rowan University in 2025, Wendy Cavendish was a faculty member at the University of Miami and Hunter College-CUNY. She earned her Ph.D. in Teaching and Learning with a specialization in special education and M.S.Ed. in reading and learning disabilities at the University of Miami and received a B.A. in anthropology and English literature from Lawrence University.
