Biography
Dr. Peter B. Contini was the longest-serving president in the 50-year history of Salem Community College (SCC). Under his leadership, beginning in June 1997, the College, guided by comprehensive strategic planning, established many new degree programs, including glass art, computer graphic art, forensic science, nursing, nuclear energy technology and sustainable energy technology; expanded instructional technology; and completed over $12 million in facility renovations and new construction. The result of these efforts was continued enrollment growth as reflected by an increase of over 55 percent from fall 2004 to fall 2011.
