Research Talk Series

The College of Education's Research Talk Series showcases the innovative work of our faculty through engaging discussions on a wide range of educational topics. Each session is led by one of our faculty members, offering fresh insights, sharing research findings, and exploring contemporary issues in education. The series aims to foster intellectual curiosity, promote dialogue, and connect attendees with cutting-edge developments that shape the future of education.

Upcoming Talks:

Drs. Cathy Brant, Kara Ieva, and Beth Wassel will discuss their work with Project THRIVE [Transforming, Holding Space, Reflecting, Inspiring, Valuing, and Empowering], Sponsored by NJDOE

The project's purpose is to improve retention, instructional quality, and emotional resilience among new and minoritized teachers through a holistic, equity-focused coaching and professional development model. Thus far, the research team is working with seven partner school districts in South Jersey. They are working to build capacity for instructional coaches by co- supporting the new teachers and modeling through our own teaching and coaching processes/ and best practices, and as a result all co-creating and refining an instructional coaching framework for the state. This workshop will offer participants a chance to hear more about Project THRIVE and discuss thorny research issues with the team as they mov forward with their work. Cookies and coffee will be available!

All College of Education students, faculty, and staff are welcome to attend these events. Unable to attend in person? Click here to join virtually.
