MOCHA - Men of Color Hope Achievers Program

MOCHA - Men of Color Hope Achievers Program - focuses on recruiting, preparing, supporting, and retaining males ofcolor to earn certification through an alternate route program.

The MOCHA Program provides placements for men of color to be classroom teachers in New Jersey. Based on innovative legislation signed by Governor Phil Murphy, the MOCHA Program aims to attract 25 men of color into the College of Education’s alternate route program, ASPIRE to Teach. Funding for the MOCHA Program was provided by the New Jersey Department of Education (NJDOE) and we were pleased to be partners together in this initiative.

Rowan University’s College of Education was the sole university partner with NJDOE to implement this new initiative.

Please note, the MOCHA Program at Rowan University is not accepting any new applications.
