The Department of Wellness and Inclusive Services in Education (previously the Department of Interdisciplinary and Inclusive Education) operates within the College of Education and offers programs including the following: Master of Arts in Special Education and Inclusive Practices; Learning Disability Teacher Consultant (LDTC) Certification; multiple Certificates of Graduate Study (COGS); Bachelor of Arts in Inclusive Education; Teacher of Students with Disabilities (TOSD) Endorsement (post-bac and graduate programs); Counseling in Educational Settings; Master of Arts in School Psychology; Educational Specialist in School Psychology; and School Nursing.
The College of Education is searching for a highly qualified and experienced special and inclusive education professional to engage in collaborative research with faculty, initiate research projects for external funding, and teach courses in the Master of Arts in Special Education and Inclusive Practices and Graduate Teacher of Students with Disabilities (TOSD) Endorsement programs. The successful candidate will have a research and teaching philosophy guided by a commitment to diversity, social justice, cultural responsiveness, sociocultural theory and constructivism. The candidates will teach courses in the Master of Arts in Special Education and Inclusive Practices program. Expertise in areas such as curriculum development, educational assessment, collaborative and inclusive practices, action research, universal design for learning, , supporting students (birth-12) with neurodevelopmental and learning differences and their families with a focus on strengths, is highly preferred. Program coordination responsibilities (e.g., staffing, admissions, orientation/program meetings, and coordinating/advising students in the MA program and Graduate TOSD Endorsement) will be required for the selected applicant immediately or within a year of the initial start date.
