Praxis Workshops

Praxis workshops are instructor-led, virtual workshops intended to help prepare students who will be taking the Praxis Core Exam. Each workshop will be offered at different times to give students flexibility in scheduling and ensure everyone interested is able to attend. Please register in advance as materials and links to the Webex will be emailed prior to the session and can only be sent to those that have registered.

Everything You Need to Know about the Praxis Core Exam (This workshop is for those that are new to the Praxis Core and provides answers to all the questions you may have about the exam. By the end of the workshop, the exam will no longer be a mystery, and you will be ready to start preparing.) 

Praxis Core Math (These four workshops are intended to help prepare students who will be taking the Math portion of the Praxis Core exam and will include content refreshing and practice questions.)

• Praxis Core Math Basics: Numbers and Quantity (This workshop focuses on integers, decimals, fractions, ratios, percents, factors/multiples, and unit conversions)

• Praxis Core: Algebra (This workshop focuses on algebraic expressions, linear equations, quadratic equations, and solving word problems)

• Praxis Core: Geometry (This workshop focuses on angle/triangle relationships, properties of two-dimensional shapes, congruent and similar figures, circles, perimeter, area, and volume)

• Praxis Core: Data, Statistics, and Probability (This workshop focuses on graphs and tables, scatterplots, slope, probability, and statistical terms: mean, median, mode, range, and standard deviation)

Praxis Core Writing (These workshops are intended to help prepare students who will be taking the Writing portion of the Praxis Core exam and will include content refreshing and practice questions):

• Mastering the Praxis Core Writing Multiple Choice (This workshop focuses on a review of grammar, punctuation, and sentence structure)

• Mastering the Praxis Core Writing Essays (This workshop focuses on the essay portion of the Writing test. You will have two essays to prepare for – the argumentative essay and the source-based essay.)

Praxis Core Reading (These workshops are intended to help prepare students who will be taking the Reading portion of the Praxis Core exam and will include content refreshing and practice questions):

• Praxis Core Reading Test Strategy (This workshop focuses on the different types of questions you will come across on the Reading Test, including reviewing useful strategies and identifying the main idea and tone.)

• Mastering Long Passages and Paired Passages on the Praxis Core Reading Test (This workshop focuses on how to tackle the longer and paired passages on the Reading Test, including a review of critical reading techniques and practice using realistic passages as you would see on the test.)
