Criminal History (Background Clearance) Deadlines

If you are registered for a course that requires a clinical (field) placement in this semester:

You must have your NJ DOE criminal history clearance completed using the College of Education instructions and uploaded into the TK20 system no later than:

Spring Semester

November 15th*

Summer Semester

March 15th*

Fall Semester

April 30th*

 

If you are registered for a course that requires a clinical (field) placement in this semester:

You must have your TB test completed and uploaded into the TK20 system no later than:

Spring Semester

December 1st*

Summer Semester

April 1st*

August 1st*

*If you are placed in a district that requires the clearance or TB test prior to the posted deadlines, you will be notified via Rowan email and must comply with the district deadline.

Clinical Practice Year (Undergraduate and CADP) Deadlines

If you plan to begin your Clinical Practice Year during the following time period:

You must complete your Full-Year Clinical Practice application in the Google Form during this time period:

Fall

November 1st – February 1st

Spring

April 15th – September 15th

The link to the Google Form will be provided prior to the start of the application period.

Teacher of Students with Disabilities (TOSD) Clinical Experience and Clinical Practice Deadlines (Undergraduate, Post-Baccalaureate and Graduate Endorsement)

For the following courses, an application must be completed in the Tk20 system based on the timeframes listed below.  Please contact your program coordinators/advisors for any questions regarding eligibility:

Post Bac TOSD Clinical Experiences Application (Courses: SPED 08307/SPED08360/SPED 08350 OR SPED 08308/SPED 08415/SPED 08351).

If you plan to complete the clinical experience course bundles during the following semester:

You must complete your TOSD Bundle I or Bundle II (Clinical Experiences/Field) Placement application in the Tk20 system during this time period:

For Fall (Sept/Oct) Clinical Experience

May 1st - June 1st

For Spring (Jan/Feb) Clinical Experience

October 1st - October 30th

For Summer (May/June or July/Aug) Clinical Experience

March 1st  - March 31st

TOSD Clinical Practice Application “Student Teaching” for Post-Bac (SPED 08450) or Graduate Endorsement (SPED 08520)

If you plan to complete TOSD Post-Bac or Graduate Endorsement Clinical Practice (Student Teaching) during this semester:

You must complete your TOSD Post-Bac or Graduate Endorsement Clinical Practice application in the Tk20 system during this time period:

Fall (Sept./Oct.)

February 15th - March 15th

Spring (Jan./Feb.)

September 1st - September 30th

Summer (May/June or July/Aug.) 

January 1st - January 31st

English as a Second Language Practicum Application Deadlines

If you plan to complete the English as a Second Language (ESL) Practicum during this semester:

You must complete your English as a Second Language (ESL) Practicum application in the Tk20 system during this time period:

Fall

February 15th  - March 15th

Spring

September 15th – October 15th

To access & complete your application(s) in the Tk20 system:

  1. To log into your TK20 account click here.
  2. You will log in using your Rowan user name and password.
  3. After logging in, go the Application Tab on the left hand side of the page.
  4. Click on the green “Create New Application” button at the top of your screen.
  5. You will see a drop down menu for applications.
  6. Click on the appropriate application form.
  • Criminal History (Background) Clearance Submission– This application is to be used to submit your Criminal History Clearance.
  • TB Test Submission – This application is to be used to submit your current TB test.
  • For Clinical Practice/Practicum/Internship applications housed in TK20 - Locate the appropriate application for your specific program.  For example: “Graduate Endorsement-Clinical Practice with Students with Disabilities”, “Clinical Practice (SPED 08450) Application for TOSD Post-Baccalaureate”, “ESL Practicum”, etc.  Refer to the instructions provided to you by your advisor or program coordinator for additional information.

You may save a draft and exit the system as many times as necessary prior to your final submission.  Don’t forget to submit the application prior to the application deadline.

Counseling in Educational Settings, Student Assistance Coordinator, School Psychology, and School Nursing Application Deadlines

For the following graduate programs that require a field or clinical placement, please contact your program coordinator/advisor for additional information regarding the placement application process as well as specific placement requirements.  Applications are due by the deadline listed below

  • Counseling in Educational Settings - application can be found here

  • School Nursing

If you plan to complete your practicum or internship during the following semester
