The Department of Critical Literacy, Technology & Multilingual Education is committed to developing a community of critical educators to work in multicultural and multilingual educational environments. Our collective scholarship and pedagogy are grounded in critical stances of oppressive systems, which we seek to undo through our study and practice of language, literacy, and educational technology. Likewise, we teach current and future educators to hold critical stances toward oppressive systems and design pedagogy with research-based language, literacy, and educational technological practices while promoting social justice. We foster this community through democratic leadership, mutual dialogue, collegiality, and collaboration, working to effect positive change in New Jersey communities and beyond.
