Faculty Summer Research Fellowship (reviewed and awarded by CED dean)
The Faculty Summer Research Fellowship awarded by the Dean of the College is to support new and continued innovative research of faculty. The following are the categories of the awards:
- Two awards of $5,000 to two individual faculty member working on a research project
- Two awards of $6,000 to faculty working with a graduate student on a research project ($5,000 for faculty and $1,000 for graduate student)
- Two awards of $10,000 to two faculty groups working together on a specific research project
Faculty members must submit a research proposal which highlights their area of interest, projected work, plan and impact for the summer period. In addition, faculty must demonstrate how the funds will be utilized to continue the research throughout the academic year and beyond. Interested faculty must also submit a vita and relevant supporting documentation.
The deadline for the application is April 27, 2023. All applications must be submitted via email to Karen Rosa.
CASE Fellow - Academic Year
The CASE Academic Year Fellows Program is awarded to a faculty member who demonstrates a commitment to the study of equity and inclusion in education. The CASE Academic Year Fellow will work with the Executive Director of CASE to conduct meaningful research, explore grant opportunities, and to plan new initiatives, programs and services that enhance diversity, access and equity in the College, with our Pk-20 partners and beyond. Academic Year CASE Fellows will receive three-credit-release each semester (Fall 2023 and Spring 2024).
Faculty members interested in serving in either role should send a brief 1-2 page proposal describing their research and work and experience in access, equity and inclusion as well as a proposal for projected work as a Faculty Fellow.
Candidate materials will be reviewed by the CASE Executive Director and Advisory Board members.

Diversity In Action Award
The Diversity/Inclusion/Social Justice Award will be awarded to two faculty members (any rank) as a recognition of commitment to the ideals of social justice and inclusion for students and faculty of diverse backgrounds and experiences. Two awards will be given in the amount of $1,000, to be utilized for professional development, instructional/research materials, conference attendance, and/or travel.
Interested faculty must submit a 1-page executive summary outlining current involvement and commitment creating a more inclusive environment for all people, as well as a current CV to be required for consideration. Solicited letters, research awards, or other materials can be used to demonstrate contributions in research/scholarship. Please submit all materials with your application. A letter from the candidate addressing relevant professional activities, a vita, letters of support and relevant supporting documentation is required.
Candidate materials will be reviewed by our DIA Committee.

Inclusion/Equity in Teaching Award
The Inclusion/Equity in Teaching Award will be awarded to one faculty member (any rank) in the College of Education who demonstrates a clear understanding of and commitment to professional practice that is inclusive and equitable. One award will be given in the amount of $1000, to be utilized for professional development, instructional/research materials, conference attendance, and/or travel.
Interested faculty must submit a 1-page executive summary describing the specific framework and pedagogical practices utilized in current teaching which support an inclusive and equitable learning experience for all students, as well as a current CV to be required for consideration. In your summary, you may want to address teaching/advising load and contributions, theory-to-practice relationship, placement of students, or other aspects of your teaching and/or advising that are relevant.
Letters of support from students specifically addressing the award are required with a minimum of 2 and no more than 5 letters for review. A vita, letters of support (students and others as deemed necessary), and relevant supporting documentation is required.

Program Innovation Award
The Program Innovation Award will be awarded to one program, at either the undergraduate or graduate level, which demonstrates clear innovation through its current or proposed program delivery. The program award will be given in the amount of $3,500, to be utilized for strengthening program improvements with specific instructional resources, materials, student scholarships, or student research. All funds must be used by December 22, 2023.
Interested programs must submit a 1-2 page executive summary describing the program’s innovative beliefs and practices, as well as the current CVs of program team members to be required for consideration. Program, goals and contributions (potential and actual) should be addressed in your summary. Please do not submit entire publications. Solicited letters, research awards, or other materials can be used to demonstrate contributions in research/scholarship. Please submit all materials with your application.

College Level Recognition (All)
The following awards will be given to recognize the outstanding and dedicated contributions of the members of our college. Members of the College may nominate individuals for this award by submitting a letter of support highlighting the accomplishments of the nominee.
- Outstanding Contributions by Staff Award
- Outstanding Graduate Student Award
- Outstanding Undergraduate Student Award
- Outstanding Adjunct Award – Per Department
All materials will be reviewed by our Awards Committee which will include the chairperson from each departments’ awards/scholarship committee plus two professional staff representatives.
