Rowan College of Education-School-University Partnerships (RC-SUP) Network
RC-SUP is in the process of creating a formal application to become a partner in the network. In the meantime, please complete the Application of Interest so we may collect contact and general information. Once the application process is formalized, someone will contact you to discuss partnership opportunities.
What is the RC-SUP Network?
In 2023, what is currently known as the National Association of School-University Partnerships (NASUP), the membership voted to expand its vision to include other forms of partnerships. As a result, the Rowan College of Education changed the network name from Professional Development Schools to the current name, Rowan College of Education School-University Partnerships (RC-SUP) Network. This change was made to be more aligned with the national organization’s 2023 rebranding.
RC-SUP has also identified category definitions, which are listed in the graphic organizer below outlining the types of school-university partnerships (SUP). The intent of defining the categories is to further help schools and universities meet their mutually designed missions and goals.
Mission:
The RC-SUP Network’s mission is to cultivate sustainable and mutually beneficial collaborations between PreK-12 schools and Rowan University. Partners strive to ensure inclusive, equitable, and antiracist practices, providing impactful educational experiences for all. With a commitment to promoting teacher agency, aligning efforts with communal goals, and making decisions that enhance educational outcomes and support professional development, RC-SUP engages educators (in- and pre-service), university faculty, PreK-12 students, families, and communities to champion a more equitable and high-performing educational system by meeting the unique needs of learners, educators, and the broader community.
Vision:
The RC-SUP Network’s vision will be a leader in advancing student learning, enhancing teacher preparation, supporting school personnel and retention through reciprocal relationships that leverage research-driven services and resources to transform educational experiences for P12 education.
Finally, New Jersey School-University Partnership Schools (NJSUP) is an ad hoc group within the New Jersey Association of Colleges for Teacher Education (NJACTE). As an ad hoc, NJSUP has representatives from each participating colleges/universities who have School-University Partnerships (SUP). NJSUP holds several events and activities, including a yearly conference that is open to all school-university partnerships and teacher preparation stakeholders.
NJSUP is an affiliate of the National Association of School-University Partnerships (NASUP).
NASUP believes in advancing the education profession by providing leadership, advocacy, and support to create and sustain school-university partnerships, such as Professional Development Schools, to function as learning communities to improve student learning, prepare educators through clinical practice, engage in reciprocal professional learning, and conduct shared inquiry.
