CASE: Take Your Child To "Virtual" Work Day

CASE: Take Your Child to “Virtual” Work Day

Thursday, April 22nd at 12:30 pm

During this past year, our children have participated in our work-day by innocently appearing with adorable expressions, actions and comments as a way to remind us that they are a priority.

Thursday, April 22nd is “National Take Your Child to Work Day” and the College of Education and CASE will sponsor a special CASE Conversation that is OPEN to all of our young College of Education family members via Zoom.

About Our Presenter

Our guest presenter will be Ms. Andrea Thorpe (CED ’95, ‘02) who recently authored a children’s book, The Story of Jackie Robinson.  Ms. Thorpe will lead our young college members through an interactive and fun learning experience about the amazing man who broke baseball’s color barrier and his work within the Civil Rights Movement.

Ms. Andrea Thorpe is a wife and the mother of three daughters ages 16, 14, and 9. While at Rowan, Andrea earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English, an Elementary Teaching certificate, and a Master’s degree in Student Personnel Services. During her many years in public education, Andrea worked as a classroom elementary teacher and guidance counselor, and was recognized as Teacher of the Year.

For the past twelve years, Andrea has enjoyed teaching her lively trio from the comfort of her family’s South Jersey home. She currently serves as a Board Member of a regional homeschool organization and teaches high school English classes within the homeschool community.

Special Gift for our Young College of Education Family

Each child who attends the CASE Conversation will receive a free copy of Ms. Thorpe’s book The Story of Jackie Robinson. Please RSVP today with Ms. Joanna Feflie at fefliej@rowan.edu to receive your special copy.
