Biography

Dr. Freedman is excited to have recently joined the Department of Interdisciplinary and Inclusive Education in September of 2018. His research focuses on sociological aspects of disability, clinical simulations in post-secondary education, and implementing approaches to disability and accommodations, including universal design, to create more meaningful participation for secondary and post-secondary students. His research has been published in refereed journals including the International Journal of Inclusive EducationDisability & Society, and Teachers College Record. Dr. Freedman is originally from central New Jersey and received teacher certifications in Social Studies and Special Education after graduating from The College of New Jersey. At age five, Justin was diagnosed with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and identified as having a learning disability.
